This paper investigates the structure, development, and impact of expertise monitoring in higher education, emphasizing its role in fostering institutional excellence and accountability. It examines diagnostic and evaluation procedures within universities, the evolution of reporting mechanisms, and the multifaceted criteria used to assess departmental performance.Drawing on recent academic research and sources including CyberLeninka, the study highlights how expertise monitoring facilitates continuous improvement, ensures the quality of educational processes, and aligns institutional practices with global standards (Khilchenko, Bazhenov, & Kirillova, 2015; Mishchenko & Kulikovskaya, 2018). By analyzing the integration of digital tools, stakeholder engagement, and data-driven decision-making, the paper underscores the transformative potential of monitoring systems in addressing contemporary challenges in higher education, such as digitalization, globalization, and performance-based funding. The findings contribute to ongoing discussions about quality assurance and provide practical insights for university administrators and policymakers
